Finally finished inking a commission I’m working on. It took longer than I would have hoped because I recently upgraded to CS5 and my tablet was not playing well with it! I only realized it after asking my friend if he knew what the problem was. Apparently tablet drivers are still constantly being updated and I had no idea. :’D So I finally upgraded my tablet driver today and it seems to be working fine now! Which is great news for me as it means I don’t have to upgrade my tablet. It’ll be my 8th year with my intuos2! It’s been doing me good so far! I found some spare nibs in my closet a couple months ago, although, I haven’t changed it at all once since I got this thing. I guess now that I look at it, it looks pretty short. :’D
A new tablet is the last thing on my mind right now.. I need to get a new hard drive to back up my files and I’m looking to get a laptop. I miss having the option of bringing my work with me! Especially lately as I’m always away on weekends and that’s when I get the most time to work on freelance… I told myself I’d cut back on taking freelance this year but I haven’t. XD; I can’t help it. :’D It’s because I’m stuck doing editorial layouts full time at work and I really miss illustrating. So I try and do it as much as I can. I’m better off forced to do as a job otherwise I get lazy, or I make plans to see people and don’t end up drawing for myself. Here’s to hoping I can get a new laptop soon so I can be mobile with my work. :’D
